Sausage and Rice Casserole

  • Nov. 18th, 2008 at 10:19 AM

This family recipe came from a Boy Scout troop who made it when they were camping out in the woods. It’s that simple (and there’s only 4 ingredients!) The seasoning from the sausage makes it delicious, requiring no salt or extra ingredients, so be picky about the sausage. Fall is here. ‘Tis the season for EASY comfort food. Two Bean Chili

  • Oct. 23rd, 2008 at 12:42 PM

I started making this delicious chili several years ago, and my family always asks for it when the weather gets cool. What I like about it is its simple, easy to memorize and it has two different kinds of beans in it.  What a great way to get your fiber. I also use organic ingredients. The recipe can be found at http://buzz.prevention.com/community/lola-writer/two-bean-chili.

  • Oct. 9th, 2008 at 10:29 AM

This muffin is delicious for breakfast, a snack or anytime of the day. When apples are in season during the fall, it’s great to make this muffin and eat it with warm apple cider. Imagine breaking open a piping hot muffin and eating it with a dollop of butter (or a healthy spread. Whatever you prefer.)  Yummy!

Potluck Blueberry Cobbler

  • Aug. 13th, 2008 at 11:44 PM
It's that time of year - blueberries are in season. And when I made this blueberry cobbler recipe, my family, friends and I were blown away by it. Instead of a thin crust, the topping becomes this thick, delicious cake that perfectly compliments the berries.  You have to try it.  This is by far the best blueberry cobbler I've ever had!  The recipe can be found at http://buzz.prevention.com/community/lola-writer/potluck-blueberry-cobbler-2
